WHY BLANKETS? Cold nights in Darfur are dangerous as children, weakened by hunger, succumb to simple chest infections. We provide two double blankets to each household and the impact we witness is remarkable: ● Small children sleep better, protected from the freezing night air ● There’s less ‘absenteeism’ at school ● Women are empowered and listened to in their villages because they have ‘household assets’
